Generational Medium - How my ancestors and lineage have evolved!

My story

I often get asked how my spiritual journey began, I now realise there is no particular beginning but through further exploration have come to realise my ancestors place in this world and how their lineage has evolved over time and I am proud to be part of this now working as a spiritual medium and energy healer.  I dedicate this blog to my ancestors and thank them for the endless support and love they have shown me.

Auntie Joan came to the door and invited me through to the kitchen, I sat at the dining table.  She then asked if I would like a hot drink, I immediately asked for coffee!!!! unsure what would happen if I had tea.

I then called out to her and said 'how did you know that I was knocking at the door, Auntie Joan replied 'you will soon find out', I was taken a back and worried that I was going to have hearing difficulties! I now know that this is not what she had meant.

Over time I started to look at my ancestry and would talk to other members of the family about my great nanna Ellen known as Nellie.  I found out that both my nanna's parents were from large families of 12 or 13.  She was born in Leeds and managed to trace her family back to Wortley, Cabbage Hill.

My Auntie Yvonne (mum's sister) told me about a memory she had of Nellie (Ellen) when she was about 16 years old and had gone to see Nanna.  Over a cup of tea! yes a cup of tea! Nellie had asked if she could read her tea leaves, my Aunt agreed and recalls how Nellie had told her that she could see Yvonne in a blue uniform and pushing trolleys.  My aunt did not take this information seriously but then said that when she was 18 years old she had taken a job at her local Co-op where she wore a blue apron and was pushing trolleys!

I realised over time that there was something within our family DNA, that there was more to this than simply just having certain experiences or a keen interest.

Our history

Firstly, I recall as a child growing up and spending a lot of time with my maternal grandmother and her side of the family.

Over the years I over heard family discussions including vocabulary that I was not familiar with.  My nanna would talk about Auntie Joan (nanna's cousin) and she could "read leaves' which was difficult to understand what this was implying.

We would visit Auntie Joan regular as a child and she would enjoy watching me in dance competitions.  I was always informed by my nanna to speak up in front of Auntie Joan due to her having hearing difficulties.

As a curious child I would wonder how she would know that we were knocking at her door?  I recall an occasion in my late teenage years when I told my nanna that I was going to visit Auntie Joan and she laughed and said 'ask her to read your tea leaves'.
